While reading
Creative Digital Printmaking: A Photographer's Guide to Professional
Desktop Printing I saw something I would like to incorporate
into my own digital prints - artistic frames. There are several
commercial products for this purpose and each costs from $100-$150
dollars. Sue Chastain, the graphics expert at
about.com, came up with her
own grey scale masks that can be used to create frames without
additional software other than your photo editing software. Here
is a link to
Sue's instructions at about.com. Her frames are available for
download from about.com and I created a slide show that allows you
to pick and choose the frames you want. When the slide show gets
to frame you would like to have, pause the show and right click on it
and choose save image. It's that easy. Here is the
slide show of frames.
Below are some samples of how I have used these frames.
